I may have to turn in my man card

My wife has been wanting us to start doing somekind of exercise here lately and has mentioned taking a spin class. It sounds kinda girly to me, but I am sure it will beat sitting here in the recliner. I found out I had diabetes last year and I regulate it really good with medicine so I know this would help that (may even be able to get off the meds). We have 2 small kids (1 and 3) so it is hard for us to get out and do anything, but they have childcare at the gym/hospital. Have any of you done this (may not want to admit) and what was it like?

Never done a spin class. I'm in the same boat as you with the "Type 2" thing. I say without a doubt, "KEEP YOUR MAN CARD". You need to be around for those young'ens.

no mancard turn in required any man that does the healthy thing, if not for himself, for his kids is more man than some will ever be.

I've done a regular spin class off and on for years - usually in the winter to stay in shape for racing season. I can tell you - depending on the instructor and the workout - there is nothing remotely girly about spinning. It will flat kick yo' butt. Give it a shot and see how you like it. Great cardio, and will get your entire lower body in shape.

wait till you take the class ... you'll be more wore out than a dog in the middle of a cat convention. there ain't nothing girly about spinning. it is a great workout. the best part is you set the level of resistance on your bike so you can work as hard as you want. if you feel your man card slipping out of your pocket just crank it down some more!

Im with the dude. My mom has diabetes and started a class 2 years ago. Last month she had lost 120lbs and they took her off meds. So if it will work for her it could work for you. And what does that have to do with a man card as far as im concerned. Only advise i could give is go for it.

Agreed, I like mountain biking for exercise and when the weather sucks I usually try to catch a spin class instead. Other than swimming, it's one of my favorite low impact cardio workouts.

Never done a spin class but have heard they are not girly at all! In fact, I try to go with My Bride to the Body Pump class at our gym. I'm typically the only guy in there but it is tough if you push yourself enough. I come out of there sweating like crazy. Get some exercise and you won't have to defend yourself to me at all.

You could keep your man card if you say your doing it to check out all the other chicks in the class

I used to do spin classes at the Y all the time. It whooped my butt pretty good when I first started. I could actually do well to go and do some spin classes.........

spinning will kick your butt! I remember in college I was playing pro volleyball and decided to take an arobics class. Seemed like a good way to meet girls. I was too worried about passing out during the first class to even remember if there were any good looking ladies there. Keep the card, you may need it for identification purposes.

Yup, dont pass judgement until your session is complete.

Think you wasted your time - turn in the card.

Me thinks you will hold on to it unless you sandbag the session...

Just grab a bike in the back and enjoy the view.
