I had a friend do this hunt, with a rifle. Said the biggest challenge to him was keeping his mental sanity. Said everything is white, your depth perception is completely distorted, he had no since of direction bc of no land marks, just out on the giant sheet of ice for days on end really messed with his mind.

Good luck Doc. Following along over they years as you check animals off the list has been great. This is the only one so far that I’m going to tell you to be careful on.
