There are lots of ways to skin a cat. If the torch is what you want, I would buy the best set that your budget allows. I bought my full-size set from a welding supply company, including purchasing the bottles. Rent will multiply your cost over time. Buying from a supply company vs Harbor Freight may get you the option of bottle exchange. Ask questions first and know what you are getting into.

I just think it's funny one of the reviews says, "Just purchased and cant wait to try it out." and its 5 stars. Thats not how reviews work.

I used to run a set like that for years in the HVAC business for brazing copper. Never used it for cutting, but I would guess you wouldn't have a ton of run time on the oxygen side. Probably just fine for small projects here and there.

This is one of the best ways to skin that cat!!
I have a set, actually 2 sets of Victor gauges and torches. I also own a small bottle of oxygen and acetylene. I can easily load them into the back of my truck. When I need to refill them, I take them to my local welding supply store and they just swap them out with full bottles.
With that said, I have never used any other brands, only Victor. One of my oxygen gauges was acting up last summer. I found plenty of videos to pin point my problem. Parts were easily available on Amazon and easily repaired. Took me about 10 minutes to fix and cost was under $30 bucks.
So, if I was going to buy a torch set for the first time, this is the route I would go.
I don’t use my torch that much. Any metal cutting I do, I use my Metabo grinder with the cut off blades. The torch is mainly for bending or straightening stuff.

I would get one and propane/oxy torch and gauge kit. You will likely always have a 20# propane bottle around. I would either buy or rent a much much larger oxygen bottle.

Used one like that for years. Work great. We had 2 sets of bottles for it.
