    Spam Call Insanity

For the last week I have been getting literally 25-30 spam calls per day on my personal cell phone. I had typically received at least a few every day but for whatever reason they have ramped up exponentially. It's rarely never the same number twice and they originate from all over the US. It's easy enough not to answer them but 25-30 calls per day to silence or ignore when you're busy sucks. Does anyone else see this amount of spam calls? Without buying a blocker, what can be done?

I use to get spam calls like that. Switched to google voice and haven’t had a spam call in about 3yrs. If you call me and you’re not a contact, voice will ask you to say your name. My phone rings, I pick up the phone and hear who’s calling me before I answer. I LOVE it!

I found when you quit posting on the internet spam drops off a bunch. Social Media is the devil.

          Just my opinion.

Rarely get them on my cell. Office line probably 10 per day on average.

If you have an iPhone the App Active Armor works great. Not sure if the app can be used on other phones or not.
It’s free, all calls not in your contacts list go to voicemail without ringing. Easier to adjust your contacts list than deal with the amount of spam/scam calls.

I think I finally blocked all 10,000 numbers that was calling me.

Don’t post on Facebook and it’ll stop.

I have my phone set to automatically send unknown numbers to voicemail.

This isn't true. I sometimes don't mess with facebook for a week or two at a time. My phone number isn't linked to social media either.

There are plenty of free spam call blockers you can download. Problem is these free blockers create their own spam calls and emails.
I have one on my Galaxy android that blocks 90% of them if not listed as one of my trusted contacts. I think it's called Blacklist or something close to that.
