When I built mine 20 years ago, I used
        2” for post 11 gauge

1” top and bottom across at 10 foot, can’t remember gauge

        1/2” pickets light gauge.

I bought all at triple S steel in 20-24 foot pieces and cut to fit,
They also carried all the caps and ornimantal pieces.

Thanks. Just pulled some pictures I sent a welder to do the same at a friend’s house.

Oh, and for anyone interested, I did use the Jakob rope system. Really slick. Fixed at one end and tightened with a hex key on other side.

I was trying to get away from all the coping. I’ll start getting material quote’s tomorrow and see how it shakes out.

Fence I built at the house. 4” square tubing post with 2” square tubing turned on a diamond for the runners. All 14 gauge. Post are concreted in about 18”. This pic was right after I welded it up but before I painted it. It now only 6 years old, but holding up great.

That looks really good. Glad you bought the steel at least 6 years ago!
