I had a 12 and 17 lariats in Ecoboost. Both had timing chain issues and I was starting to have tranny issues on the 17 when I traded it in. The 17 in year two went through one timing chain, battery, and a starter. Mpg was not that great in them.
Now have 22 Laramie ecodiesel. So far only issue is tire pressure sensors randomly stop working.
The new truck already has over 8500 miles on it and it’s been being spelled lately.
Sorry, my 2 am brain needs some splainin'.
Has it been going through a bad spell? (problems)
My wife (and I) still driving her 16 Laramie and am pleased every time I get behind the wheel.
Garage kept and ~75k on the clock. (no tic yet )
When considering what to replace it with in a few years I'm fairly sure she'll want the same thing in a newer model. Just curious what the "being spelled lately" ^ is meaning.

Nah, not at all. I should have elaborated but I meant that I've been driving the 2014 mostly over the past few weeks to keep some miles off of the '22.
The last 2 vehicles I had were a 2012 Ram 1500 (mine) and a 2015 Lincoln Navigator (wife’s ). Traded in Ram at 160k miles and had only ever done basic maintenance. Got rid of the Navigator after having to drop $7k in repairs at 100k miles. It began leaking coolant all over the place. Worst part was at the turbos. They had to break down the turbos to replace an o-ring and very labor intensive. I figured next thing would be having to replace turbos so I got rid of it. It was also having electrical problems. I hear they have changed that design on the ecoboost but I wouldn’t buy another one. I’d look at the 5.0 if I was going Ford.
I just traded a 2017 Ram 1500 that had 149K on it. Battery, brakes, tires are the only things i ever did to it. Was still running great when i traded it
I have a 2011 f150 5.0 4x4 with 220,000 on the odometer. The most costly issue I have had was replacing a timing chain cover on the front of the block. It has been a great truck and hopefully continues to be great.
Ford has introduced the 5.0 in their Tremor line for 2023; this trim and engine (with a few other options) will be my next vehicle. However, it may be a year or two.
No idea. I'm still driving my 2005 Ram 1500 Hemi I bought new almost 18 years ago. >250k on it and still purrs and pulls
Following though...I'll be in the market sometime next year b/c while the drivetrain is solid, the interior...well...its lived a hard life as a hunting truck lol
I drive a Ram now and absolutely love it (TRX though). For a “normal” truck, both the ram and ford are super nice these days. I feel like the ram rides a little better, but the ford tremors have some really cool tech in them. Definitely go 5.0 if you go ford. Or plan on timing chain/cam phasers at 100k.
