    Ram 1500 and f150

Drove Both the the Laramie and the lariat in 4 wheel drive. I like the ford better but the EcoBoost gives me some pause as far as longevity. Costs were comparable. And……go

Just don’t buy a General Motors product! I hear dodge is having issues and I hear that fords are having issues ! If it were me I would go with the Ford !

      I’ve got a 21 F150 with the 5.0. No complaints

We bought our 2nd new 1500 Ram in October going by the luck we have had on our 2014. The new truck already has over 8500 miles on it and it’s been being spelled lately. The ‘14 is sitting on 162k+, general maintenance plus a water pump less than a thousand miles ago.

I also have two family members with 3.5L Eco Boost engines, both Expeditions. One of which is a 2014 and the other I believe to be a 2019. The newer one did need to have the cam phaser changed out within the past two years but otherwise, both have been good vehicles.

You’re not likely going to have any major issues with either unless you get a bad one, and that can happen with any manufacturer. Get the one that felt the best to you.

What did that cost you if you don't mind? I'm thinking that's coming up soon for me on my 2013.

I honestly can’t tell you as it’s my youngest sister in law’s vehicle. I’ll try to ask my youngest brother tomorrow as he’d be the one to know, but he has a pretty full schedule this evening and I don’t want to bug him.

Why not get the ford in a 5.0? Terrific motor. Get a 6 speed if they still make them. I have a lariat and love it.

Ain't now way I'd every have another eco-boost... My current '18 5.0 just got out of the shop for routine maintenance for its 200,000 mile check up... As long as that 5.0 were available, that's what I'd buy. If I could buy a new one like the one I have now, I'd buy it in a heartbeat... Had one Dodge WAY back... That was enough for me. Gave the eco-boost a try, twice... They're OK up until about 100,000 miles then they $1000 dollar you to death...

My wife loves her 2021 F150 Lariat with the 3.5 Ecoboost.

Any truck manufacturer can have issues with any of their models. People worry too much about that stuff. Buy what you want and enjoy it.

I like Rams and Fords. Bought a new 2014 ram hemi. No issues. Bought a 2021 ram 3.6 , no issues and 25mpg . I really like it alot and plenty of power. Haven't bought a new ford but did buy a 2002 f150 that went 18 years with only a fuel pump and battery replacement. So it's really just luck of the draw. To me the new ram I got was price point. I got a very good deal when new trucks were almost extinct.

Have a 2012 King Ranch eco boost with 185,000 on it. Been pulling my 7500 lb travel trailer with it. Pulls it fine and haven't had any issues with it. Pulled the trailer to Michigan and back last summer.

In July I bought a new Ram 1500. Got $6k off of MSRP which was pretty decent for that time period. Seat comfort is the most important item in ANY vehicle I buy, and after dealing with a couple of vehicles that were decent but not as comfortable as the Ram, I went back to the Ram. Had a 2017 Ram 1500 and regret trading it in.

As already stated, EVERY manufacturer makes good vehicles but there will always be bad ones mixed in too. Go with what you like the best. For me, Ford and Chevy trucks just aren’t as comfortable and if they aren’t comfortable then I physically can’t drive it.

I had a 2019 Ram 1500 that I traded for a Diesel at 100k. The only issue I had with that truck was the Exhaust Manifold bolts breaking.

Everyone I knew with an Ecoboost traded theirs to go with a different brand before 100k. Whether it was Engine issues or fuel economy issues. They all switched.

That's the only real world experience I've got with them.

I wouldn't buy anything from Stellantis right now, not so good rumors going around about the companies long term financial stability.
