I need to run a couple in New Mexico to monitor water levels in some tanks and for secuirty.

Very remote, limited service so hoping the camera can last several months minimum
I am in between Junction and Menard with very spotty cell service. I have it set on feeders (so lots of pics) and immediate upload as well. I am getting 4-5 months out of alkaline batteries so for me that is pretty dang good.

A couple of things to consider.

    1. Lithium Batteries will improve the battery life
    2. There is a rechargeable lithium battery pack coming for Edge and Edge Pro in the Summer. Going to be awesome to plug and play battery packs
    3. There is a new universal solar battery pack coming in the summer as well. This is what I would recommend going with.

I hunt that same area....about 3 miles north of the Menard line on Hwy 83

was thinking of putting one up there also. I think they are gonna be perfect for my NM place to monitor water level in the tanks. If I can get 6 or 7 months out of a battery set that would be idea.

I'm thinking I can put lithiums in it and upload once a day and hopefully get that.

When you say went off line, do you think the batteries died or the camera just failed?
The lady I spoke to at Moultrie when setting up the solar said I did not need the batteries in the pack but could leave them in as a backup just in case I encountered several cloudy days with heavy camera usage. Camera was working fine and she even adjusted my setting to where I think when I go back online I will be getting notifications immediately. Will update once I do a hard reset later this week.

I have an IPhone and never have been able to get videos to play. What exactly do I need to do in the settings section?

                  Moultrie Edge cell cam questions

Nothing in the setting section as everything is handled in the Moultrie app.

                  1. Request video (make sure you are in video mode. If you are in picture mode you can’t request a video. It’s one or the other)

                  2. Next time that camera checks in it will send you the video with a “play” button. You have to go back and find the video you requested as it stays in order.

If you are still have questions don’t hesitate to reach out to the Moultrie Mobile customer service team. They are all US based too!

Sounds like at least 5 months....pretty solid.

I don’t get an option for video only?

The video only is Photo + Video. So technically it is not video only, as it is a picture and video.

You will get a photo (screen shot) in your app and then you request the video off of that photo.

OK so I did my hard reset on the camera at 12:51 yesterday. It took 4 pictures of me while I was there. Thought everything was good and left at 12:56. Camera went off-line again at 12:56. Ugghhhh. I will say that the Moultrie support folks are top notch but evidently the area I am at has too much interference? This is in downtown metropolis Granite Shoals America! I am now to go back to the camera location and call them and they will actually try and pinpoint another location (they say just a few feet can make a difference) for me to utilize. I am being patient which is something I am NOT good at! I will report back again once I have done this next step.
