I don't mind getting older. Its the fact everything keeps braking down so fast. And recovery time is like forever.

And figured out a way to make and save real money instead working for other peoples crumbs.

Recently visited with a spinal surgeon. He said disc replacement was in my future but as long as the esi treatment was giving me enough relief to deal with daily life to hold off. But he did say when I do get it I will be glad I did.
Then again the orthopedic says the same about knee replacement.
Thank goodness for pain meds and Crown.

Then why are you putting off surgery?

This ^^^^^. And 47 years of standing on concrete hasn't helped. I've got parts of me hurting that the young guy's don't even know they have.

First sign of old age is when your Wranglers become stranglers.

Go get the replacements done if you have Dts you trust so you can have more quality time on this ol earth. Personally the number of people I know that have had these miracle of medical replacements say why did I wait.

Do you lift weights? If not, i would recommend it. People tend to shy away from weights when they have back issues, and I think this just exacerbates the issue. Axial loading via heavy squats and deadlift with strengthen all of the muscles that stabilize your spine. Of course these need to be done with a neutral spine. You should never flex your spine under load. That is what got you in to this mess. Reverse hyper machines are becoming more prevalent in gyms now and they are great from strengthening and decompressing your lower back. An inversion table can help as well.

Avoid going under the knife if at all possible. You don't hear many stories of people saying how great they feel after spine surgery.

I feel like I should have something to contribute here. But not sure what.

Genetics, and a lifetime of injuries, sure can take a toll on the body. And in the long run too.

The fish are biting and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

I skipped shots and went straight for surgery. Back at it in 4 days

                                Good for you!

I’ve known people who have gone in for back surgery and awoke immediately pain free. Rehab helped them retrieve their range of motion with some effort but, all in all, each has said it was worth doing.

I actually DON’T go out of my way to delay or avoid surgery if it makes sense. What’s the upside to delaying if all you’re doing is kicking the can down the road?
