The next stag went in their freezer…then an Eland lol

This is why you ask if they are missing an animal and if so what species. Thats like asking your neighbor if the 100 dollar bill I found in the bush by my mailbox is theirs.

on a loose axis, blackbuck, fallow, aoudad in the hill country, it could have come from any number of neighboring ranches and you would have no way to truly identify it.

when it comes to elk, zebra, buffalo, scimitar oryx and other SUPER Exotics, much fewer ranches have those, so i would think that might be an easier call to a landowner.

not blaming people for hunting what is in front of them, but remember that celebrating that loose animal also means another hunter lost both a hunt opportunity and a lot of money in the process. so, while you likely can't get it back to them, maybe be a little more kind to their loss along the way. (or at least on the green screen)

we are all hunters here regardless of how high a fence is
My neighbor has a high fence, we had a very stormy night that must have triggered their gates, or they forgot to close them, while heading to work one morning there was 6-7 fallow bucks standing right next to the fence, I drove a little farther and seen the gate was wide open, I called my neighbor and let them know, they got everyone back inside.
I’m surprised they didn’t take off, they just stood next to the fence like they wanted back in?

Fallow deer are notoriously stupid animals.

Fallow seem to behave more like goats than deer to me.

Just pull the trigger and see if any law stops the bullet and protects them.

I heard tell of an eland that got freezerized out west of Seymour a few weeks back.

We have a neighbor on one side that has a HF. One year a doe showed up at a feeder with a big yellow ear tag with #29 on it. She looked like she was about to domino any day, being this was in June. Had her on camera for right at 3 weeks, never to be seen again. Never called the neighbor. Had heard that he turned a bunch of doe out but heard those had purple tags. Never saw any so not sure if true.
Now, with the trouble we’ve had with his guides running hog dogs on our place, if an axis or something else ever gets out, it’s gonna be SSS!!!!

As far as darting an animal that’s not very reliable as they can run for several minutes before passing out.

They dart them and then herd them from chopper into open or wherever they can get them in a vehicle. We do it all the time for supers that weigh 600-800lbs. I agree I wouldn’t get a chopper for an axis. I **** sure would be mad if a sable heifer got out and killed by clueless neighbor that shot a $45k animal.
