Saw one a few years ago on the tank dam behind the house. I thought it was a cat until it stood up and looked at me. The black legs gave it away as soon as I saw them.

1 down 1 to go here in Northern Wise co.. Did I say they like chickens and are way smarter than a gray.

I trapped a couple of hundred of them out here in west Texas in the 80's but quit trapping about 20 years ago. I caught 3 on my little farm in Brownwood in 2015. Used to sell the greys for $42 and the Reds for $65. It was fun while it lasted.

Saw one ran over just a couple days ago between Troup and Tyler, trapped one on my other place trying to catch coyotes, and have seen at least a half dozen more over the years.

I shot one near San Angelo about 10yrs ago when hunting in the big cat contest. He was the first animal called in and shot for our team. I’ve got him full-bodied mounted in my office.

I grew up around Stonewall and I would regularly see red fox in a particular field a few miles East of town.

After years of never having seen any, we occasionally see some greys in Lee Co. They are still a rare and special siting, but they’re there fairly consistently and the population appears to be growing.

I’ve seen a lot of grey. When I worked night shift patrol I would see the same red fox probably almost every night. Also had one sighting on Guadalupe River. Other than that I’ve seen them in other States.

The street I live on is named Fox Run. I had a grey fox living in my large wood pile in the back yard a few months ago. No reds. I worry some about rabid foxes.

I am originally from west-central Indiana. We would go through waves of when we would see Red fox. Red fox was one animal I never killed because I thought there was nothing prettier than a furred up Red fox in the winter time especially when seen with snow on the ground. Of course I don’t have chickens so my opinion would change pretty quickly if I did.

I've personally only seen 2 in my life and they were around the dam at Lake Sam Rayburn. That was probably around 20 years ago. I've seen a fair amount of greys in the hill country and around the house here in Bellville.

Have any of y'all seen any swift foxes? I've seen one that had a den on Navarro Mills lake dam. I would see it regularly on the lake dam.

2014 denned in a driveway culvert

There were four little ones that the mother seemed to have birthed in a driveway culvert near my home. Only ever got photos of two of them.

Saw 4 Swift Foxes about 5 miles North of my house a few years back. Don't get to see those too often. Same reason we don't see Reds. Vehicles and coyotes. Swift Foxes are illegal to shoot in Oklahoma. They're on the endangered species list.
