Wyoming bulls are going to only 10% in the NR draw next year, this would be a good year to apply.

I killed a free range one down in Mexico south of Douglas, AZ. There was a big herd on a old family ranch where the guys great grandpa brought them in back in the 1950s and they proliferated. Lived up on top of a big 6K ft mesa. Ranch was massive and had a cool old ranch house on it with a fire place in each room where this ancient Mexican lady whooped up meals like no other. Beautiful country and wasn’t a give me. Had to do some serious hiking and took 2 days. Also had some bomber coues on the ranch but they wanted ridiculous $ for them. I’d give you the outfitters name but pretty sure he’s in jail. Good dude but just a raging alcoholic and couldn’t stay out of trouble.
Overall really cool experience and ate on that bison for like 2 years

Free range bison are not like fenced animals.
Not hard to comprehend. Put them in a fence and they know they can't go anywhere, free range they choose where to be.
We hunted them on foot, no vehicles to drive right up and shoot. We had to judge them ourselves, which were cows and which are bulls. Shoot the wrong animal and they take it and you get charged.
The hunt is finding the bison on ground that is legal and then determining which one to shoot , if you can get in range. The the work begins after t it is down. No blinds to sit in, or feeders to sit over.
Come up and give it a try DIY.
You might need a bigger grill for the ribs though.
