Buffalo are not hard to kill or get close to in most cases. There is a good reason they were able to kill dozens at a time.

But, it’s cool killing something so large with a bow.
Yeah from what I've read/seen they just aren't on point like say a whitetail. Some in mountainous areas seem to rival probably mule deer, but in general they don't see scared of a whole lot. Not expecting it to be a super tough hunt. I just have a thing for tanks, and there is some romantic part of me that wants a buffalo with archery gear. Mind PMing with that your costs were?

Lol. Just because you found a place that takes some work to get to them doesn’t make it at a “uniformed comment.”

Bison are not the smartest animal on Earth. They have been historically easy to “hunt.”

Try to just walk up and get in bow range of a bison on the Henrys and let me know how that goes

Like I said, you found a place that takes some work. Congrats.

Make it a little challenging and use a bowie knife.

This is more what we are looking for. I've messaged the ranch. Thanks. It does say all bow shots must be backed up with a modern rifle- does this mean the guide is going to shoot it right after you do?

Bswift355 killed one at OX Ranch I believe. It’s high fenced but I’m not sure how large the place is. You could check them out.

You ever post holed through 3 ft of snow in below zero for 2 days before you get a shot? It very well can be a hunt.

Wyoming bulls are going to only 10% in the NR draw next year, this would be a good year to apply.

Is this DIY, or get drawn and then find an outfitter type thing similar to Elk?

still, aren't they likely to charge you, similar to a Cape buff? I'm disagreeing that its just a 'gimmy'.

Ole Chuck Adams said at a Safari Club Dinner many years ago the free range bison is one of the hardest archery big game hunts in the US or Canada. I remember thinking really I have an ex brother in law who’s family owns a huge high fence ranch in North Western Oklahoma and they are pretty spooky but getting a 50-60 yard shot would be pretty easy if you could afford it. I have never been around a free range bison so I don’t know but Chuck probably has a clue.

Only if you shake the feed bucket too loudly.
