This ones been brutal! Yesterday sucked but we somehow managed to make the cut for day 3 so we gotta do it one more day. Stunk it up here but we’re gonna end up in the top 10 for AOY. Hopefully I can catch the tigers tonight. Ready to get back to Texas!!

Not the finish we wanted but coming here we were 8 points away from 7th place AOY and the check line. The guys ahead of us were 51st after day 2 and didn’t get to fish day 3. We had to beat 8 teams day 3 to move up to 7th place in AOY and get a check and that’s exactly what we did. Home for a week and off to Grenada next Monday for Crappie Masters Elites championship. Might fish a NCL on D’Arbonne in December but that’s duck season so who knows!

Leaving Grenada. Toughest bite I’ve ever seen here. Big fish were shallow shallow. We never could see em. Cold front Friday night turned them off completely. We focused on casting to deeper fish on the main lake. We thought we could catch 12 pounds a day on my handheld which would be over 13 on a crappie masters scale but that didn’t happen either. Wind was too bad in our best area day one and we left there with 2 small fish in 3 hours. Didn’t even try it day two as the wind was too bad. Rest up and be ready to roll next year. First tournament is on Lake Talquin in Florida the end of January! I love the roller coaster ride of tournament fishing even though this year was tough for us

Forgot to mention they had a tagged fish today. Smallest one and the only black crappie we had was WCCC tag 45. It was in line with the fins and with algae on it was the same color as the fins. I pulled it off cleaning the fish thinking it was a piece of fin and then saw the yellow underneath and the writing. Had to get somebody with better eyes than mine to tell me what it said!

On a side note there’s a sexy mofo on fhe latest American Crappie Trail video. Pretty sure that was practice at Truman for the Elites. Not having that trail next year. Hopefully fish all the regular crappie masters tourneys. Hoping they move to 5 fish and no live bait!! That would be cool!
