Stunk it up yesterday but had the second biggest bag in the losers bracket to move onto championship Saturday! Man these fish are spooky after this crowd chasing them for a week!! I thought D’Arbonne fish were spooky!

Bentman piled em up in 2 hours this morning and we got off the water before it got too hot! 1/8 oz and 1/16 oz hand ties in popsicle, bad shad, and ginger truce did the damage! On Conroe of course!!

Little man talked me into chasing ditch pickles for a couple hours this morning. He’s gonna be in high school next year and wants to join the fishing team. I’ve been dreading this day honestly but if he’s excited about it I’ll end up that way too. He caught one and lost one and I had a catfish on a top water plug. Had enough and went to chase slabs for an hour and had 20. Mommas got fresh fish so she’s happy. Little man bought lunch so I was happy! Even had a piece of butterscotch icebox pie! Not a bad day!!

60 degrees in the mornings and highs of 85! Lakes the lowest I've ever seen it but the weather is nice! Clay clipped a roadbed but I think everything's ok. Can't raise the motor high enough to look at the lower unit and the waters too muddy to see anything! Been running all over though and it seems good. Pirating stuff up! It's what we do! Kept a couple fish for dinner last night and couldn't even see them in the livewell! Like fishing in chocolate milk.

Prefishing is over!! Wore a hoodie this morning for the first time this year! It was everything I thought it would be! Supposed to be 55 in the morning. Gonna wear a hoodie and bibs! Can’t wait!!

It's gonna take a few days to get my eyes right after this one! Had a good day prefishing and never could get on them again. Tournament was a tough one. Caught a ton of fish though. Eufaula and Grenada are next.
