Salty H20 2023 Thread- How Salty Will You Get??

The fish had me moving around this weekend and scratching my head. First stop Sat morning was a ghost town, they were there last weekend thick but not even a bite this weekend. Hopped back in the boat and headed to spot two, after wading a bit we finally caught our first trout at 9:05, but had our 10 before 9:30. Sunday was a grind, ended up boxing three trout but just couldn’t get into a decent bite anywhere. Still a great weekend overall and can’t wait to get out next weekend after it warms up a little from this front.

Headed home after a weekend in corpus. Friday right at dark I landed a new pb red. 40”. Saturday was good and we found good groups of reds and trout. Sunday wasn’t near as good as we weee expecting. Was a good trip.

Look back thru this thread Chris!! Plenty pics to drool over! Seems to have been a very good Fall for a bunch of folks. I was fortunate enuf to have been part of the annual tuna TBH rodeo. We brought back 60 yellow fin tuna with an average weight of 80+# and a 431# Marlin. That’s not the normal Salty kind of bay trip but was still a bucket list check off for me and an epic trip in the salt!

Heck Shane, just retire!! I highly recommend it! Best job I ever had, but DANG I sure do work harder at it than I ever did any other job I've had!!

The trout bite has been on fire for me. Had a buddy and we dropped the two girls off to collect shells out by Dagger. We slipped off and trout fished Pelican Island area. Hour later when they called we had kept 10 solid 16-20 inch fish and released 2 over 20. Went this morning to different area and he had 10 more to take home before 830. Both deep grass/sand pockets and reefs have hungry fish

Glen, that what i was thinking…hitting the reef tomorrow before i go to work. Quick walk for me, cast up some live bait and chunk the lemon rig

Had to leave just as wind died down, finally found a small school of reds, lost them

oh well had sushi with my daughters for lunch so winning in that category
