what are you going to do with it after it fills up?
If I built one, ideally it would be deep on one end and another end it would gradually get shallower up to a large flat area of about 1-2 ft. deep for ducks.

Half an acre is gonna cost the same as an acre.

Just had 1/4ac x 10' deep dug a few weeks ago. Sand 3' then hard clay. $7200

I have about 50 loads of good clean fill that I need to get rid of blocking my view of the pond. The guy that dug it said I will get about $55/load for it when they can get to it. And then it started raining......

whoever you end up using make sure they are pond builders - lots of bulldozer folks will dig a hole for you but I have seen many that ended up a mess - it is worth your time and money to find someone who does pond for a living

Word of advice is have it done by an EXPERIENCED pond builder or make plans to pay the experienced guy the same to fix what the dirt mover charged for. Not always as simple as pushing up a berm and thinking it will hold water
Yep, watched a pond build on YOUTUBE and that guys 5 acre pond was a disaster.

Daggit, I always thought clay was easy to find in East texas. Should be quite the project.

I have a pond that leaks and cannot get anyone to call back or come out to see what they can do if anything. It is not a huge pond, but I would like to get it fixed and put some fish in it! I guess it is not enough money for them to come out or even talk to me! Not sure how some of these companies stay in business with no return phone calls, texts or emails! Very frustrating.
I hope everyone else has better luck than I did!

Same here. I reached out to a company recently and they came out and did an evaluation. Never heard from them so 3-4 weeks later I called and was told they “were meeting about my pond” and would get back to be.

                          3-4 weeks later nada.

Give me this guys number…. I am in north Texas and have been talking to a couple of guys about completing the pond on a lot I own. Everything I am hearing is at least double that price. I am looking to do an acre or so around 12’ deep.

Cheapest I was told was $2500 per day and that was for 1 piece of equipment.
