    Pond Construction Cost

I am thinking about building a pond and was looking for rough estimates on what it would cost.

    1. Approximately 1 acre
    2. Remove 15 trees and burn
    3. Located in East Texas

    Thanks in advance.

In as well. I believe I need about a half an acre though. Don't think I need a football field sized tank.

Just a WAG based on some clearing and lake work we did. I would say $20,000 - $30,000 depending on how deep and how much clearing work. Trucking off the dirt would add cost.

Don't burn those trees, add them as fish habitat!

Lots of variables to consider...depth and soil? Is clay, liner, bentonite needed?

              Here's an older thread.

No idea but I have one that needs dam torn out and redone

Priced around $18K a couple years ago, just not in my budget. I am sure you could add $10K to that now.

Word of advice is have it done by an EXPERIENCED pond builder or make plans to pay the experienced guy the same to fix what the dirt mover charged for. Not always as simple as pushing up a berm and thinking it will hold water

Cost is going to vary slot depending on available clay on site vs needing to be hauled in will bet expensive quick, clay in etx is hit and miss

20K minimum. There are a number of site factors to consider, but if all the stars align and you are a lucky SOB, then 20K.

I am a farmer. I need to plant the seed about habitat, taking advantage of what you have available and then its time to order some of my fish habitat pieces to complement what you already have started. The trees will waste away, my product will stay forever!

From what I've seen, closer to $30k than $20k in East Texas.
