I had a similar problem with my camper that was at my lease, and it got unplugged. I put old newspapers in it, and it solved the problem.

Cheap Charcoal in a burlap sack will get it out after a week or so.

Filled mine up with about a foot of water and added a bunch of bleach. I let it sit a few days and then drained it. It never smelled again and is still running to this day. Happened probably 15-20 yrs ago.

Coffee grounds. Replace every few days. It’s what worked for me.

I tried to smoke it out, but it didn't work. Thoughts?
Brett, I tend to procrastinate from time to time, but a man that throws a cat, that needs to be buried, in the freezer for later, is next level.

A few years ago, one of my family members had a freezer go out. We couldn't seem to get the smell out after washing and washing with bleach water. Finally figured out there was a small "overflow container" under the freezer. Pulled the "grill" off the bottom front of the freezer to get to it. Dumped that and cleaned it good. Smell went away very quickly after that.

CB lean it out real good with bleach water, then vinegar water and then rinse real good. Put in lots of balled up newspaper, charcoal, baking soda and cotton balls drenched in vanilla. Change out every few days for a week or two until the smell is gone. Been there and done that with a stinky deep freezer and it worked like a champion. I even sold the freezer several years later.

Wash it out with a pressure washer then sprinkle a good amount of ACTIVATED charcoal in there. Wait a week and it will take it out, but it has to be activated charcoal.

Real vanilla extract will do it. Takes time and freezer cannot be on. Done it a couple of times. Once was in my travel trailer fridge where I had lost power for a week and didn't know it. Had me some nice squirrels in there all ready to be fried up and they was rotted. Opened a bottle of Vanilla extract and left it in there for a week and the smell was gone next trip to the lease.

sounds to me you have a coffin for the cat, bury them together...good luck

Vinegar for freezer. Fresh air/time for garage.

                            Try this.
I have never used one on a freezer, but I have put it in a car that had a full beer spilled in it, and a truck that was owned by a smoker. It eliminated both of those smells.

I had one go out during the summer. I washed it out real good, then set it in the back yard with the door open. After about a week in the sunshine, the smell was gone.
