Yeah that’s unacceptable. You were clearly not hunting while in your dwelling at 9:30pm. Wonder if he wants to drop by my house at that time and check my license. If he wakes the baby though, he has to put her back to sleep. It’s the law on my property.

I’ve never had a bad run in with a game warden. Understand that I have had a few run ins that COULD have been bad for me, but the GW was cool. However, my feelings toward them fall in line with the 4th amendment which has been abundantly clear in these GW threads that a lot of people are cool with just tossing that out the window.

Everyday you hear of more BS. No this is not acceptable. Not even close. Our country is so backwards!

I wonder what the change in policy is recently, On late night checking license ?
Bout only time a GW comes up to the camp is if somebody is driving around or drinking late
Last year one visited after 9-9:30 to check the camp just seemed different.

If I were an officer I would think this would be a very unsafe practice. Their jobs have the potential to have enough hazards I would think. Especially at the deer lease, after hours people are usually chilling, having a few adult beverages, away from their every day lives then this.

Up here in my neck of the woods they use to perform radar also. We had a US Forest service tree cop that would setup radar on the regular state highways even in off season. He is no longer around.

I’ve never met our local warden when he’s on duty. I have drank a few beers and played golf with him when he’s off duty and he’s a pretty good guy considering how famous he is.

Had one knock on my door at 10:00 one evening. He had to cross neighbors ranch & also climb my fence to get to my camp. I told him he was a brave man as nobody has ever knocked on my door & that I had a 9mm in my back pocket because I thought it was wetbacks. He just laughed & said he was prepared as he showed me his bulletproof vest.

I still think it is probably a small sample size of bad ones. I would be ****** if I was woken up to check my license especially with no cause for them to believe I had done anything wrong.
