Warning: Sig Sauer warranty is misleading

My Sig 2000 rangefinder is barely showing any read out on its brightest setting, so I sent it in. they said it only has five years warranty from the date of when it was manufactured, not five years from the date of when it was purchased! This is bs and misleading, I should have bought a Vortex because they have a lifetime warranty.

They are giving me a discount off of their overpriced website. I will never buy a sig product again

Interesting. Mine was out of date as well. They gave me a new model free of charge. In fact I was very surprised they upgraded mine to the kilo BDX model.
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience

A guy on my lease dropped one and it showed up years later because a cow had found it and we saw it with it in its mouth. It spent about another year being played with by his kid in camp. It got left on my porch for about a month so I acted. I'd heard they had a lifetime warranty like Vortex so I got curious and called. I told him the whole story and he said send it in. They promptly sent not only a replacement but two on accident. I let him know about the mistake and he said keep them both. That was just last year. This surprises me.

Hate to hear that. I’ve had great experiences with Sig’s customer service on both the optics and firearms side.

I got history with them. I'd push back on that warranty date!

I have several Sig products. Whisky 5 scope, range finder and a few things that go bang. bang. bang. Never a problem with any of them and I beat stuff up pretty bad.

I would write to them and let them know you love their products and exaggerate about how many of their products you own. Then politely say how disappointed you are with the warranty issue you are having and never say you`ll never own their products again.

I`ve always had good luck with many issues similar to yours by doing this. Companies usually want to keep their good customers.

I read your story and glad they took care of you. My problem is it had sat on the shelf for two years before it was sold to me so I only had 3 years of warranty. I am going to push back big time!

Absolutely, never heard of that BS before. If they don't do your right, send them a link to the " Dallas Dodge " thread.....stating this could be you!

That is really sad to hear. I am a Sig fan and would expect better. I would let them know that it is pretty damaging to their reputation, esp. when it gets posted on a forum. Might check if they have a FB page and express your dissatisfaction on it.
