Warning: Sig Sauer warranty is misleading

    I got my Kilo 2000 out of my pack the other night and it was dead as a hammer. Put a new battery in it and nada.

    I looked up their warranty on electro optics and it’s written in plain English what their warranty is on electronics.

              What you knew before or after the sale? Did you research the warranty before you bought it. If you did, that should have thrown up some warning flags. It’s not misleading if you read the warranty.

              It clearly states that the warranty is from manufacture date. So, they are not misrepresenting themselves. It may suck, but it’s their policy. I would just not buy any of there products that had that type of warranty.

                    You go ahead and buy that Vortex Rangefinder if the warranty makes you feel better but the product is inferior in every single way.

                    While you are at it look up every other rangefinder’s warranty. Sig is one of the better ones.

                      Like Sig much? a lot of their products are just acquired and rebranded Sig. I like a lot their guns but they can have the rest of their stuff.

                        Who said it was Sigs fault? You literally quoted the exact same thing that was on Post #1....like you found the Holy Gail of warranty info

                        Leica, Leupold, Nikon and I'm sure most others warranty starts at time of purchase, as probably 99% of the products on the market.

                        Sure seems a little misleading from a reputable company like Sig

                        It's a small sampling, but looks like Sigs RF displays are not very reliable either. Look like a 2-3 lifespan is all they are good for.

                        If I have issues with my replacement, you can bet I'll move on from Sig.

                        Maybe quote this twice too so it will sink in!

                          Just out of curiosity what are the other manufacturers' fine print warranties on scopes, binos, rangefinders and such that contain electronics? I haven't bothered to look BTW.

                            I never said lie... I merely suggested to embellish how good a customer he is. Never said lie. They should treat a customer with one of their products the same as one with 20 regarding a warranty issue. Misrepresenting the truth a little..... Maybe........But never said lie.

                              Just a quick run down on RF's

                              Nikon’s Five Year Limited Warranty applies to the components of Nikon Rangefinders, which components are warranted by Nikon to be free from defects in material and workmanship for five years from the date of purchase by the original purchaser from a Nikon authorized dealer.

                              Leupold electronic products which include rangefinders are warrantied against defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the date of purchase.

                              Vortex rangefinders are covered by their VIP Warranty system.
                              In most cases, products are repaired without charge. Lifetime no-fault VIP warranty is a GREAT feature.
                              In electronics, this could definitely be a reason to buy things to have after a couple of seasons of heavy use. Vortex protection is unconditional and exists even on electronics.
