High or Low gear on Polaris Side X Side?

On 3rd Ranger. We have always been told to stick with Low if offroad and going less than 15-20 or so mph. High is reserved for higher speeds, roadways or fairly smooth terrian.
Honestly, don't over think it. If the terrain requires slower driving for whatever reason, low probably should be used. Tooling around on maintained ranch roads or other areas that can be driven safely at higher speeds, high is the ticket.
From the responses in their thread it doesn't sound like it makes much difference either way.Last edited by CaptainDave; 10-12-2022, 11:23 AM.

Looks like the owners manual says low gear
Gear Selector
Low gear is the primary driving range for your vehicle. High gear is intended for use on hard-packed surfaces with light loads. Using high gear for heavy loads, hilly terrain or in wet, muddy conditions will increase the chance of drive belt burning. See the Drive Belt Wear/Burn section on Drive Belt Wear/Burn.

If under a load, then I run in low gear.
