High or Low gear on Polaris Side X Side?

I have owned two rangers and have always driven them in high gear unless pulling something or trying to get in stuck

My buddy brought his to the lease this weekend and drove in low gear the whole time. He said he didn’t want to bust his belt.
    Typical hill country terrain

High gear unless pulling something or going up a incline. He’s going to burn something else up besides the belt if he only runs in low…..

I very seldom ran my Polaris in high unless I was hauling azz. Never burned anything up. Somewhere in the manual it tells you if you’re poking around to run it in low.

99% of the time in high.

I’m in my second Ranger. Still have the first one and after 6K miles on the original belt, I replaced the belt after running in High 99.99% of the time, the original belt still looked great!

Tell your buddy unless he’s putting 30”+ tires on it or towing with it, run in high. The absolute worst thing that can happen (extremely rare) is he burns a belt. He’s not going to hurt the clutch. Enjoy the machine.

When we bought ours 5 years ago, the dealer told us to run in low all the time unless we would be going over 20mph. So we have always used low 90% of the time.

We have quite a few ravines. I try to always use low climbing out of them.

Have a buddy who runs it in low 100% of the time.

He bought into the “ it will burn a belt if ran in high” theory so he drives around his ranch wrapping 7000 rpm in low range.

I will say this, the machine still runs good, but I normally run the can am in high unless I’m crawling or pulling a load.

I have bought a Polaris and can am and both dealerships told me that if running below 15min to keep it in low.

When I bought my ranger in 2015, one of the first things the dealer told me was to run it in low unless I was running it on the hi way.

Low around the house and on trails. Ours sees high a lot however around the neighborhood at home and the lake.
