Several years ago I bought a little Delta lathe to do that very thing but somehow that Delta turned into a Powermatic 3520A and I haven't made the first pen yet! Bowels, gobblets, clocks, electric lamps and oil lamps seem to have sprung up from my pen idea.

Before the Chinese started making them in mass, the antler pens went for $100 each. Antler is supposed to be pretty tough to turn so I was gonna do a few outta wood before I tried to tackle one out of antler ... I'll let you know how it turns out!
