    My second pen

Well, my second sucessful pen. The second one I turned was some spalted maple. I got to agressive and blew out the second half with the gouge. This one is kingwood. It's got a cool maroon hue with a distinct dark grain. There is no finish on this one. It's just sanded and sanded and sanded, down to 15,000 grit, which feels like vinyl vs. sandpaper.

When you try to photograph something like this, you REALLY appreciate the pics that some of you pros take. My little Kodak just ain't gettin' it done.

I'd thrown the idea around a few times.
You got something particular in mind?

I looked expectin' to see a feeder pen or a hog trap pen! But that is a pretty cool looking writing utensil!
