I had a jasper engine installed in my 2006 Silverado. 6500 out the door with 100k warranty. Not sure if many deals are better than that

I’ll update when I get that. If anyone can recommend a shop that deals with Jasper engine please share.
        Thanks
Jasper has authorized dealers to install. There's a search function on Jasper's web site to find one near you.

I have used it but just asking for anyone that might have had a good experience with an installer.

What vehicle and what motor are you swapping?

Does Jasper have a network of mechanics they use? I was planning to buy a new motor from them. I didn’t realize having them install it was an option?

Thunderbolt has been in Houston for 84 years. They can’t be all bad.

                Its A 5.7 Hemi

Ive been doing a lot of research and I'm torn between doing a reman engine or maybe just replacing the camshaft and lifters.

Did he do it himself or have it done?

He did it himself. Crate motor swap.

Buy a new crate motor.. Trust me. I rebuilt my 5.7 HEMI myself and had $5,000 in just parts.. I did have the heads reworked and upgraded the lifters plus a stage 1 cam.. New rocker arm assemblies.. Ceramic headers..
I won't do it again.. Getting parts these days is hit or miss..
Whatever you do bypass the MDS system. This is a big cause of flat lifter issues HEMI is known for.

I had one put in an 150 about 10-15 years ago. It lasted about 1 month past the warranty which I think is a year.

                              Ok,
                              there is definitely mixed reviews.

I got the quote from Thunderbolt at $4995

Quote from Texon Motors at $6150

Quote from 2 Jasper installers at $10,000

All 3 quotes are engine and install.

                              Makes the decision pretty hard.

Back when I was working, we had our own fleet mechanic’s. We used to use the some of these for engine and transmission replacement. They are in Houston area. 1. Texon expensive but good work.2.Drivers Auto Repair in Pearland. 3. Texas Motor Exchange 4. Engine Rebuild.
