Major oil spill? If electric pitch they have 0 hydraulic fluid. If hydraulic pitch it will hold about 60 gallons of oil. The gearbox does hold a bit but those never seem to leak.
Those are high paying jobs, I would definitely consider leaving my power plant job to go back into wind. Those offshore jobs are the most sought after.
He thinks the wind farms in west Texas where he is at are basically a dud with poor results.
800+ foot tall windmills with 300 foot blades seems unreal but doable
Texas definitely needs more electricity for industrial use , and with everything right now being 50-60 years old supplying the grid 24/7 / 365 @95% , any suggestions seem like a good ideaLast edited by S-3 Ranch; 07-22-2022, 03:36 PM.

It's like a triple scam. Everyone knows it's a scam.
What could go wrong? I mean they can't build them on dry ground and make them profitable or heck even close to break even. Lets try to engineer and build them in freaking salt water where hurricanes come through..... Yea! That will work

Setting aside durability and efficiency, note that it is only the Gulf being proposed. Joe knows this wouldn't fly on the West or East Coast. If his admin was truly committed to this idea, these turbines would line all coasts. But, while the left might support "Green Energy", they don't want them messing up the view of their coastal waters. So, it's political grandstanding.
