    Toyota apex protection plan questions

So I bought a 2022 Toyota Tacoma and they talked me into getting the protection plan. After reviewing the contract I'm debating on cancelling the contract I'm not really seeing the benefits since I have the factory guarantees. Do y'all think it's a waste of money? Have any of you cancel? Do they give you a hard time?
How long do I have to cancel? Thanks you in advance.

    Yes a waste.

Did not purchase with any of the last Toyota’s I’ve gotten so no help on cancellation.

Cancel. Most contracts are 30 day cancellation for full refund. Buy the extended warranty before the factory warranty expires.

      Yes they will hassle you.

This is what i found. Hope it helps.

          Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes! Each Apex Protection Plan Mechanical Breakdown Service Contract has a 30-day money-back guarantee (providing there are no claims). After 30 days, upon your written request, Apex Protection Plan will refund the pro-rata, unused portion of your warranty minus any claims that have been paid. There is a $50 cancellation fee that applies if the Apex Protection Plan is cancelled after 30 days.*

protection plans are scams... they sell them to you to get your monthly payment up as high as they can. i bought two plans years ago one on a tundra and one on a nissan armada. both good vehicles, paid alot of money for protection plan and never used it. they bank on you buying it and never using it. plus i think most of them only cover parts and no labor.

all extended warranties are a waste, unless they extend way past 150K miles

I use Toyota Tacomas as my work vehicles. Bought my first 3 in about 1990, and bought the extended warranties for them..............DUMB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've bought around 50 of them since then and did not buy the warranties.

Very rarely would there be a need for an extended warranty on a Toyota,,...........

Cancel. I did the same and realized I got screwed after the fact. Was kinda pain to get it cancelled but got it done by going back up to dealership.

I would cancel it as others have mentioned above. My 2018 Tacoma came with a 3/36 bumper to bumper and a 6/60 on all power train including certain electronic parts.

Only issue was the factory recall to replace the failing fuel pumps.

Secondly, I have owned Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 Tacoma's as my play vehicles and would have yet to need an extended warranty on any of them.

                      Just my opinion.

It's 2022, you should be able to do it online.

Toyota's have been the most reliable and trouble free vehicles I have ever owned. Have never needed to use any warranties. Just do your scheduled maintenence and you should be good to go.
                            Cancel it for sure.

I mean if you are buying a Toyota the entire point is to pay more upfront and not have to buy an extended warranty because they’re reliable as hell and you can keep it forever. Otherwise you should buy a Ford or something else that’ll break and you’ll need the extended warranty for it.

That being said I don’t trust those new tundras at all. Why they would go to a high strong TwinTurbo V6 is beyond me.
