      Haas' Weight Loss Accountability Thread

I’m on the same journey and have went from 287 to 235 so far in a little over three months.
      My daily meals consist of
Two poached eggs and half a grapefruit for breakfast, full salad and a piece of fruit at lunch and grilled or baked fish and steamed vegetables for dinner.
On Sundays I grill a good steak and eat the whole thing with steamed vegetables.
I cut out ALL soft drinks, bread, sugar and fried food.
Exercise consists of working around the place, no actual workouts.
I’m 70 so eatting habits were hard to change, but like you, I’m committed.

      YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!

Another weigh in Wednesday has passed with no accountability. I'm not seeing much commitment from the OP. This looks like most other "New Years Resolution" threads. Good for a couple of weeks until the realization that lifestyle changes to lose weight take work. Fasting and throwing the kids around in the pool a little bit, are not lifestyle changes that will allow you to lose weight and keep it off.

Yall are right... I fell off and am just too embarrassed to admit it. I'm not making excuses, I just fell off. I wish I could be as committed and dedicated to those who are bashing. I can say life factors are getting in the way but y'all would see it as a fat guy looking to justify why he quit trying.

If fasting and being more active aren't lifestyle changes, then let me know what is. Eating healthy? I can do that. Working out? Thats part of being more active. What am I missing? Not trying to sound angry or looking for a pity party. I know I have to do something but what that is, I don't know.

Fasting is not a dietary lifestyle change. Regulating the amount and types of calories you put into your body is. What workouts are you doing on a regular basis to burn calories? If you don't become accountable to the guy in the mirror it won't work.

Any improvement, no matter how small, is an improvement over what you had before.
Small changes can add up to big results over time.
                    Just stick with it.
                    You can do it.

                      Nailed it

It's gotta be a lifestyle change or it won't work

Diets fail. Simple math: burn more then you take in

Most folks don’t have the testicular fortitude to stick with it.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Let me ask you this: can you walk around the block without getting winded? You don't have to work out every day and try and go 110%. Every other day works just as well, and the days you aren't working out/doing cardio, watch what you eat. Walk around the block for a week or so, do it until you feel comfortable, bring your wife, listen to a podcast, use this as YOUR time to relax, think, etc, but do it a few times a week, absolutely no excuses; then add a little bit more. Yes, the heat sucks, but I hope the days of triple digit heat are behind us. That is one less excuse.

I can type a book on here, but at the end of the day, its up to you. Good luck and hope you stick with it. I wish you nothing but success.

Was going though the same thing and had to look myself in the mirror and be honest with myself that what I was doing wasn't working. So I went and had weight loss surgery a year ago. Some will say it's cheating but I don't care. I'm down 135#'s and not being able to eat has taken the stress of diet off of me and losing the weight has me feeling so much better that I'm actually able to workout now without hurting or feeling like I'm going to die. I did this for myself, my wife and kids. Best money I have ever spent! I have friends and family that say I took the easy way out and I'm lazy blah blah blah but like I said I don't care. The path I was on I was going to die in the next 5-10 year and now I'm healthier than I was in my 20's (43now).

Very good advice! Eat better and go walking before work or after work

With you being 330#'s, it will be very easy to lose 50-60 lbs in a hurry. You must clean up your diet and learn how to eat better. Thats number 1. And cut down late evening eating or alcohol and drink alot more water and less sugary drinks if you do.

It takes some conviction and want to, or it won't happen. I have 2 kids at home, get up at 5:10 am to go workout. I get to work at 7:30 am and work until 8 PM 3 nights a week.

Well are you really healthier if you are still living and eating the types of food you did when you were overweight?

Yes you took the weight off, but internally things are fairly the same unless your lifestyle and eating has changed.

Back to to testicular fortitude mentioned above.
