Trying placing a cold Adult beverage in your hand to help with swelling! I have used snuff, cig both work... Clean it really good.

Like others have said, slime off the catfishes belly and meat tenderizer helps ease the pain. Or you could just cowboy up

Around here, we have these little cats we call stone rollers. They are about 5" long, and get ya every time. I also go with the adult beverage method!

An old man that I know, swears by alcohol. He says it's best to apply it from the inside out though. And as much as he has in his system, I don't think he'll ever feel any kind of pain.
