The reliability outweighs the not so good gas mileage I.M.O. Got 108k Miles in my 2017 with Zero issues, underside still looks like new and I DEFINITLEY do not baby my truck whatsoever. I get 13.8 after I went to a leveling kit and 33's.

My 04 went 417,000 miles before it got wrecked. I'm figuring my 16 will be the last truck I ever buy.

You can run stock fluids and get a little better mpg.
Adding ashless 2 cycle oil to your gas will get you roughly 1 mpg better.
If you're running larger than stock tires you should definitely drop some 4.88s in it.
I get 11-12.5! the truck shows 13-14 but have never gotten that! lol

            2007 Tundra

            14.9 MPG

Nothing you can do about it.

I just bought a Highlander Hybrid for daily driving and Im getting 37 mpg.

Not getting rid of my truck, just will not be driving it much.

Guess I need to quit my griping. I will try some Sea Foam.

I’m going to drop a bottle in mine since it’s around 150k but don’t do it regularly as I don’t think it improves fuel economy overall. I just drive the truck and smile that I’m not driving a Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Nissan

Go buy a new truck with turbos and a 10 speed. Then when it breaks you can spend even more in repairs than you would on gas. 2019 double cab 4x4 with 1 size bigger tires. Avg 15 mpg. Not bad at all for a design from 2007 that just plain works.

Get small highway tires. I had a 09 and a 19. 19 came with 17 inch rims and small highway tires. I was getting 15-21 depending on my right foot. After 2k miles i put 33 in bfg ko2 on it dropped to 12-15mpg instantly. Now I got a sweet little Corolla with my 80 mile commute

I typically drive my trucks to 150K miles. I had a 2018 GMC Sierra 5.3 that was the biggest POS I’ve had. Complete **** that was in the shop constantly. I then had a 2018 Tundra that I drove for 60-70K miles before retiring it, as it had 150K on it when I got it as it was one of our field trucks when I took it over. I added up the fuel costs from day one on both trucks as we track them for the life of the truck. The Tundra never saw the shop, and it still costs us roughly $1800 more than the GMC did including the repair costs lol

The Tundra cost was to 146K only as that’s what the Sierra had when I gave the POS up lol

So you got 70k more miles of service out of it for only $1800 bucks? That’s a deal.

Guess you didn’t read the bottom portion you quoted. Always have to spell it out for at least one.
