Is there ANYTHING a person can do to help this gas guzzling 5.7 get better mileage? I get the best mileage when it’s parked. I’m stuck on 15.3 mpg no matter what I do. Was wonder if there is a performance chip that can increase gas mileage.

What rear end are you running? Maybe that could be changed/lowered to a 3.42. Not sure of your towing needs.
I had a Toyota Sequoia years ago. If I recall correctly, it had a 4.10 rear end…their standard. That’s a dually rear, come on. I looked into a more highway rear end but couldn’t find anyone that could tell me the effects it could create to the computer.

Average about 11.1 in mine.
You can run stock fluids and get a little better mpg.
Adding ashless 2 cycle oil to your gas will get you roughly 1 mpg better.
If you're running larger than stock tires you should definitely drop some 4.88s in it.Last edited by MadHatter; 05-08-2022, 06:28 AM.

I’ve learned not to fret over gas mileage. If it bothered me like 2-3 mpg bothers a couple of my buddies, I’d go buy a Prius..
I get similar in my Tundra..16-16.5 on the HWY and 14.5-15 in town. Love the V8 compared to my 7.3 diesel.. and no overworking a 6cy with turbos.Last edited by Smart; 05-08-2022, 06:59 AM.

For sure as for reliability. This is a 2015 with tow package, super crew, and 4x4. It was my wife’s vehicle. She got a sequoia and I got her vehicle. I traded in my 6 cylinder toyota with 210,000 miles on it. Was still getting 21 on the highway and 17 in the city. Sure miss it. Had I only known Joe Potato Head was going to ruin the country I would kept it.
