    Well got the call yesterday….

…. The lease I just got on the land sold. I have till June to get my stuff off. So I am gonna try and shoot a pig or two before.

With that said. I am going to be looking for another place.

I have a question after hearing a lot of this happening. If a person signs a lease and pays some money, isn't the land that is leased still under contract, no matter who buys it? It would actually be a liability to the old owner and passed on to the new owner. A lease is a legal contract same as a ROW.

        BTW, OP, it sucks.

          Well . . . it depends. :-)

Any lease from a landowner's perspective should be drafted to state in the event of a sale the lease terminates. If not, it can actually be an impediment/hinderance to the sale/value.

If termination upon sale is not in the lease, and it is disclosed that there is a lease to the seller, technically the lease remains effective.

There are some other variants as well.

It was in the lease agreement that land could be sold. The owner was asking so much I didn’t think it would sale.

The couple places in Junction that I knew about are leased already. But, I did hear of a place in Ozona that was looking for 3 guns. I believe it was advertised on LeaseHunter.

OP, what specifics you looking for? Size, # hunters, counties...In case someone on here has a lead.
I hate finding/changing leases. It usually turns out well but it's a hassle while it's happening. Sorry for your troubles. Hang in there.

Curious about the old land. Where was it and what was the sale (asking) price ?
I have heard some incredibly huge numbers lately

Good luck on finding a new lease quickly

Land prices are crazy right now and they won’t be getting better any time soon.

Seeing more of this now because people are getting so much per acre especially land that’s been inherited. Heirs are cashing out big time.
I know a guy that inherited land & built a house on it. A wealthy guy started buying land all around him & said I will never sell my place. A year later he sold it to the wealthy guy. Everyone has a price point they can’t refuse
