Only wore Wranglers up to the mid 2000’s. Now I wear Atwood’s store brand jeans. $10/pair now.

I remember the touting the fact that they were so tough you couldn't wear a hole in the knees or they'd give you a free pair. I got some free ones. Then mama used the iron on patches.

That’s only if you purchased them New! Mine were mostly garage sale specials but I didn’t know the difference! Heck , most of my bestest clothes now look like garage sale specials lol

Toughskins hit the market in 71 so mine had to be some other knock offs

Toughskins had the patch on the inside. That was why they were suppsed to be so tough. Reinforced knees.

I believe we bought our Toughskins at Sears. And yes, the iron on denim patches for the knees were tougher than the original material.
