....AND I had to let my son-in-law and one of my supervisors know that I may have to lay them off in a couple weeks if things don't turn around quick. Crappy day for sure.

After the events of your day so far, I might go ahead and shut down for the day, try to salvage the weekend, and start over next week. Come to think of it, this sounds more like a Monday.

Sorry for this and your possibility of having to lay off employees. The dog kill was certainly not your fault. Is your German Shepherd normally okay around strange small dogs?

He's only 11 months old and is a big baby. We have never seen any aggression by him toward other animals. The neighbors dog was a toy chihuahua so it didn't take much to hurt it.

The neighbor took it extremely well! I was shocked. He apologized for his dog getting into our yard and wasn't upset at us at all. He was very reasonable and said he should have kept his dog in his yard.

Wow thank goodness for them being so understanding. I know it still is bothering but at least that helps matters somewhat. Tomorrows a new day new beginnings with sun up. Glad it’s working out.

If there is evidence where the dog dug under your fence I would take pictures to document this. Just in case something comes up with the neighbor.

Dang, a reasonable human that takes responsibility for their actions or lack of. Extremely rare these days.
I would make it a point to do something neighborly ever so often with this guy. People like that need to know that they are well thought of in the neighborhood

We build custom pools. We built 60 last year and are usually starting to roll again by now. I have talked to lots of subs and others in the industry and they are all experiencing the same thing right now. We still have 4 pools going that we will be finished with in two weeks and have zero new contracts for this year so far.
