    Bad Friday!

I got a call about an hour ago from my wife crying and frantic. Once she calmed down, she explained that a neighbors little dog from across the street had dug into our backyard and our German Shepherd Jax had either severely injured or killed him. She was too afraid to go near him to see. I had to call my next door neighbor who was home so he could go check on the little dog. He said the dog was severely crushed and didn't make it. We think the little male dog dug under our 6ft privacy fence to try to get to our Boston Terrier who is in heat. She was in the house separated from our GSD but I'm sure he smelled where she had been out there. It's a sad deal and I'm not looking forward to knocking on their door later when I get home to tell them their dog is dead. At the same time, it shouldn't have dug into our fenced yard. I'm sure they'll be upset but I hope they understand that there was nothing on our end that could have prevented this. Our dog was protecting our property.

Bad deal for sure. The dog owners will prob be mad as well as upset.
    But no fault of yours.

It’s tragic that the dogs aren’t spayed or neutered , that’s the usual
Response when dogs are fighting for breeding rights.
Our neighbor had a wiener dog that wasn’t neutered and was digging out enough that it was causing traffic accidents, animal control finally got him fixed in the pound

The neighbors should have had their dog secured, plain and simple. If they get upset (understandable) but stay that way, screw 'em!

Been there done that. My neighbor had just lost her husband and my dog killed her 12 yr old baby dog...

Hopefully your neighbors are a rational thinking bunch of folks.

Not a good way to start the weekend.

We had this exact situation happen when I was a kid. Neighbors dog got in our yard and our dogs killed it.

Years later a different neighbor’s blind dog got in my parents backyard and fell in the pool. Luckily my mom was home to see it early enough to save it.

Sad deal. But dogs are gonna do what dogs do. Unfortunately sometimes big dogs kill little dogs as a hobby.

                          I would advise against this.

Sounds like there is a hole under the fence that would be a big clue…

The probability of BS in this situation is extremely high.
