    sotx,
When I read your "report" of your beach excursion, I thought the same thing as TxDispatcher - this right here is why you don't! I'm sorry to hear you went thru that and glad that you made it out. But admittingly, I did chuckle a little at the thought of you & your family pulling into a gas station to get fuel, everything covered in sand, and no one wearing any shoes! (Sorry...)

Years ago when we had our hybrid travel trailer (bought brand new), my wife and I agreed no beach trips unless we got something that was "not new." Our current Class C is a 2002 model and I don't mind taking it down to the coast, but at 31' long, no way I'd get that beast out on the sand.

Now, if we had one of these... Omni Super C
I might actually think about it!

We saw one at Potters Creek a few months back, and the "4x4" emblems on the side are what made me do a double-take.

As appealing as sleeping on the beach sounds I can’t imagine the sand. We’re in Galveston next week at the KOA and I’ll be finding sand in the camper for 2 months.

As the crow flies, I am 25 miles from the beach. That's as close as my camper will ever get to the beach.........it's almost too close actually.

I’ve stayed in Galveston at: Sandpiper, Jamaica beach, and Stella mare all across road from beach and never a sand issue. I’d go every year no question

Now camp on the sand…. $&@% no!!!
