Find something you are comfortable with and will enjoy shooting. 7-08 is a great choice as well.
I’ve never understood this argument. Sure, a .22 hornet will kill any deer in the world. But, if the deer of a lifetime steps out at 300 yards, I’m killing him every time and the guy that’s hunting with his .22 hornet is just gonna have a story about the one that got away.

If I pay $20K for a Yukon Moose hunt, I’m not passing what may be my only shot opportunity because I have a 7 mag and the bull was quartering to me and didn’t give me a perfect angle.

Sure, a .243 can kill an elk… doesn’t mean it’s the best tool for the job.

Get a 280 and sell that 270. Better bullet choices and best ballistic coefficient than the 270.

When it comes to guns, there are so many, there is never going to be an agreement on best tool for the job. There are sooooooooo many that do the exact same thing.

You've got everything you need. But I know you want a classic .375 H&H

With 6.8 western intro and 270wsm has been around, some faster twist barrels should keep up with a 7mm.

If I were any where close to hunting the deer of a lifetime I would not have the Hornet with me. I will be hunting a Yukon moose this September and if I can’t get it done with a bow it will be the 7 mag that does the job. It amazes me that elk and moose get killed every year with archery frontal shots but it takes a 375 to kill one with a rifle. I rarely hunt with a gun but get to watch lots of guys shoot. The guys shooting moderate calibers always seem to be more accurate.

22-250. Amazing shooter, fun, cheaper, light recoil, flat shooting. And just because!

338 win mag… cause if it need something bigger than a 30-06, you may as well have a 338

The 30-06’ will do anything in NA. I think it’s it’s a sleeper and often gets overlooked but it’s the most versatile of the cartridges you listed. I’m a big fan of the 25-06’ as well but it can be marginal in payload compared to its parent cartridge. If I already had a good 30 cal then I would look at the 25 or the other way around.

45-70. Because if you're wanting to travel the United States and kill stuff it'll kill anything you hit with it.
