Brian is a phenomenal dude and awesome coach! I’ve rolled with him in McKinney and down at his gym a few times.

        That's cool!

My kid got a BB in Tae Kwan Do and pretty much quit after that.

We started after a fat kid took 20 bucks from him. Bus driver refused to do anything so we gave my son the green light. Couple days later he wore fat kids face out with his backpack

A little wrestling technique will suffice at that age.
Double leg take-down, headlock & face pound.

Find a class that teaches nut kicking, works just as good and much cheaper.

You need to find a mixed trainer that knows how to develop the trainee’s strengths because every human is completely different and a regimented “art” is almost useless in real fighting.

You also need to be careful because fight stop maneuvers can be life altering for both parties. A fight against one opponent shouldn't last any more than 2-3 seconds until total incapacitation of the opponent. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH BIOLOGICAL WOMEN.

Women/Girls usually have strong legs and should capitalize on their strengths. Generally speaking the best a female can do is survive not kick butt !

Teaching a girl she can be Wonder Woman or Super Girl is adding to their weakness and awareness.

“Nutt kicking”, pressure points, or anything short of a fight stop move can cause the recipient to be highly inflamed and kick the **** outta the girl.

Yesterday marked one year from the start of her Jiu Jitsu journey. Her self confidence, self esteem and strength and agility have all improve. She has no intention on competing or being to competitive but has learned she can work through problems just by slowing down. The initial goal has been accomplished and we found something she really enjoys

Both of my grand daughters 11 & 13 have been taking Jiu Jitsu for many years now. Unfortunately I can't tell you much about it, they live in Florida and I don't get to see them as much as I would like to. I do know that they both like it very much, they've competed in a few tournaments, and managed to come out on top, so they're learning something. One thing I like about it is, they incorporate a self defense class in with their training, and I've been to a couple of their workouts / training, it's pretty intense, I was impressed.

Man, I remember when this thread came up. I am happy for you OP.

We are looking for BJJ in Tomball for our son. However, he is 3, and the places I've talked with won't start until 4. So I am at home teaching him simple things so he is ready then.

                              Congrats to your daughter!

If she ever does decide to compete, JJWL runs a great tourney
