Couldn't muster up the courage to go fish this weekend in the heat. But I did eat some crappie! Air fried with panko crumbs and slews original marinade. Side of summer salad (strawberries, avocado, cucumber, onions and vinegarette). Good stuff!
That salad might need to find its way to the crappie get together next year! That looks interesting!! I can’t bring myself to use an air fryer! Seems too fake, like turkey bacon! Yuck!
Crappie fishing this summer for me has not been very good. Maybe it's the heat. Has anybody else been doing any good lately?
Palestine and Fork most trips have been 20-30 fish in 1/2 day. Some good sized ones in the mix but your working for every one of em. Other lakes can get to 50 with minnows but your measuring alot of them! I thought I would be slick and take July and August off but it hasn't worked out that way.

We didn't fish for 2 or 3 weeks because it is so dang hot. Fished tawakoni this past sunday. Brought home 22 fish from a 1/2 days fishing in the heat of the day. Tossed back about 10. We were not finding them in big groups like normal and they were not biting nearly as well. I think I might be done until it cools off.
Found out yesterday the Elite series is artificial only!
Don't know where we're going yet but was told stops in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Missouri! Least a couple of them will be close. I know regular Crappie Masters series will be at D'arbonne, Grenada, and Fork again next year! Hopefully can make those 3 too! Haven't heard anything about American Crappie Trail yet. Hopefully can make enough of those to qualify for the championship anyhow.

Awesome looking meal. That salad looks amazing and I happen to have every ingredient in the fridge and some pickled red onions to boot. I tried the search function but coming up empty on this marinade. Tapatalk having problems or I am. Can anyone share?

Don't over think it! Mostly equal parts veggies but a little lighter on onion and avocado. Any vinegarette dressing will do (nothing too sweet). Wife snuck quinoa in the last batch! Not bad but prefer it without. If you can let it marinade for an hour great.

I had to google that! Looks like bird seed to me!! Reminds me of the time I just moved to DFW and went to lunch with a buddy from W Tx. He took me to some yuppie grocery store with fancy sandwiches! I paid $8 for a sandwich with brown lettuce but ate it anyhow cause I figured at that price which was a lot back then it was probably supposed to have brown lettuce! To this day I still don’t know if it was or wasn’t but it wasn’t a bad sandwich! I remember they asked me what kind of cheese I wanted. I told the lady sliced!

Made it with pickled onions and added some golden cherry tomatoes a friend gave me. He also grew the cuke. High end balsamic and olive oil and it was absolute fire. The avocado emulsifies into the oil/vinegar as it sits and is remixed with the juices of the other ingredients. Thanks again.
