2022 Salty H20 Thread.... Let's go! Part 1

Do not loose your wading net. Been fishing without one for about 2 weeks. Went today to 2 WalMarts and 2 Academy’s and out. I guess they are all made in China. I went to get pool noodles at Wal-Mart and was gonna make one and guess what- No pool noodles.

Awesome, was going to head that way after lunch but may reconsider after watching this low build & build.

Man it's gnarly looking right now, some deep thunder. I think it's going to miss us but if it doesn't it's gonna be a good one.

Already to much vested in tomorrow despite the weather forecast. Grabbing the boat and heading out to Surfside tomorrow. Figure I just toss a couple beach umbrella's in the boat and when we have a storm roll up on us I just bank the boat on the nearest shoreline get out of it and sit under the umbrellas and wait it out.

Keep an eye on that lightning man these storms the last few days have been all lit up.

I have a 20 year old do-net I refuse to throw away for this reason lol. I don't use it anymore, but someday I'm gonna want it if I ever lose the green Everlast net bag.

Went to surfside this mornin. Radar showing storms at daylight. It was right for once. LOL! Raining and lightning in distance. Major is just starting & get 4 trout right away. Lightning rolls right up on top of me. I get in truck & watch the show. When it thunders the truck vibrates. It is bad. 3 guys down from me still in water fishing. Thinking stupid young fools. Just down the beach a little a big bright bolt streaks to the ground & I think thunder started before bolt disappeared. Guys walked on water to truck. LOL!! Water was beautiful .Could see my feet in over waist deep water. Too clear IMO. Anyways, lightning quit,so got back in the water & fished till 9;30 or so. Skipjacks were thick. Sometimes every cast was one or a hookup. Didn't get another trout after getting back in the water. Major was over before the storm moved on.

Still a Great morning fishing!!

Lots of great action last few
weeks, mostly rats but its so much fun sight casting to tailing reds. Its great to see them getting bigger.
Some trout and a kept 2 nice flatties.

Special afternoon today. Didn’t get to fish much with my kiddo this summer due to his work schedule. He is headed to Tx State next week. Weather and reds cooperated and we had a blast. Also, the 10’ scooter fished way above my expectations with two people.

Great reports and pics, really love seeing all these. We sat and watched lightning and storms rolling in. Wind died completely at sundown so bugs were insane but luckily only a few skeeters. We tried a few usual spots late but skunked, zero tide movement and zero wind made for a strange night. Women and kids did pretty well in the surf before dusk (dudes were working), trout reds and a jack. I'm really starting to crave a good PINS style surf trip, soak some shark baits and try to get my Tiger.

Fished the ULM today in the driving rain from 630 to noon... we were the only boat on the water, seriously!

Not a great day but we did catch fish. Had 5 trout from. 20 to 23" and 2 reds 22 & 28".... had a great tournament stringer. It was pretty cool being the only boat out.
