    >>> Help - San Antonio Seafood Recommendation

Can someone recommend a place in San Antonio for seafood? A place you would take that special person in your life on a special date?

I can't think of anything in San Antonio, but in New Braunfels, there is McAdoos and the Reel. McAdoos is pretty good cajun, mostly seafood. The first year or two they were open, the food was better, but it's still good. The Reel is just good sea food.

Not a special place for romance but Sea Island has real good food.

Groomer’s Seafood and cook it yourself for the best.

Otherwise its a mish-mash of selections. None are the end all but some have certain items that are great. Southerleighs at the Pearl has Snapper Throats which are good.

Hungry Horse in Boerne has the best fried catfish around and a healthy portion. Southerleighs at the Rim has great catfish but a corn meal breading. They have good oysters too. Their gumbo is a good but its a seafood/sausage mix which is a NO-No !

          Pappadeaux Is consistent

If it were someone special and “Seafood” is your theme then just do it right.

Get a room in Port A, Go to Trout Street, then a walk on the beach.

Paesanos is an Italian Restaurant, but lots of seafood on the menu. It is a great date night spot.

For over 50 years Paesanos has been the preferred choice for Italian dining in San Antonio.

Okay, obviously I need to add some detail - this is not for me. I'm looking to get a gift card for my brother and his wife. His wife is from Jamaica and changed her diet a few years ago to only seafood. Brother is working in SA on a contract for several months and she lives in Connecticut. When she visits, they like to go to area restaurants.

Catfish is not in her plan. Me? I could eat my weight in fried catfish and I think she's crazy for not liking it. But her sense of taste is more refined than mine.

It's been a while, but I liked Landry's on the River Walk.

Wow! That Eddie V's looks amazing! I bought a $150 gift card from there. I hope it is enough! Thanks for that recommendation!
