I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God.

I started my career in Healthcare in the operations side. I now own 15 nursing homes a staffing agency and an insurance company. Operations and management has always been my calling. There is good money to be had in Healthcare Ops if you like and are good at building teams and managing folks.

          Career, had a few.

After Grad HS (1982), worked at a business outside Hot Springs as a welders helper, business was sewage pump stations, I was a ****-herder, I was called "dirtball".

Next was Air National Guard, 1983 to 2004. I was full time until 1999 when I took a managerial/technical position with a large telecom company. I stayed in the Guard until 2004 at which I retired. I stayed with the Telecom company until retirement in 2020.

I'm currently working at a local sales/service shop, but working too many hours plus drive. It's starting to wear on me, and wife is on my ars.

I wouldn't change a thing, except I always got wrapped up in the position. In the guard- I always volunteered for everything, I was gone more than at home. With the telecom company as a manager, my weeks were averaging 50-60 hours, juggling multiple customers (pay was good).

If I can impart some wisdom, and I wish I had know earlier, deposit all you can into your 401K- even more than the match. It grows exponentially. Find a investment specialist to assist. I have two 401Ks, a military retirement that kicks in at 60, an rolled over pension to IRA about that same time, and SS at 62 or so. Make plans for your future.

HVAC Building operator in Semiconductor, clean room. It’s been good to me for 1 yr. of school combined with a couple of years doing air conditioning on jets in the Air Force. Very good pay with out have to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a 4 yr. college.
Young guys out there, a good work ethic and taking the bull buy the horns goes a long way now days.
Currently there is a huge demand for trades, electrical, pipfitters, hvac, welders, air compressor mechanics. Keep this in mind before spending a ton of money on college if you or your parents don’t have it.

New brick n mortar branches for us are 1/5-1/3 for us, the remainder for tenants (lease income).
Got ya, for a while there seemed to be competing bank branches at every intersection and strip center. It always got my attention.

Did 4 years in the Marines.
Got my CDL and been in transportation ever since. Been with this company 9 -10 years now. Last 1.5 as a full mobile repair tech.
I busted *** to make MGMT. I haven't, been passed over for younger with less skill and passion. I'm 50 now. Tired of busting my knuckles and head. Not sure what's next. I KNOW what's supposed to be next. Full time Ministry. Avoiding that.
In hope you find a place and settle in.
I've missed birthdays and what nots driving. Been to some cool places. Never time to stop tho, next load had to get delivered.

Offshore O&G Control Room Operator 12 years now. Been steady with no hiccups for me which has fast tracked retirement accumulation. Work 14/14 with 2 weeks vacation. So 5 months out of the year. Veterans typically do very well in this environment. Planning to hang it up @ 46 (9years) God willing.
