The new signing period is having a major affect on these coaching searches as they don't allow schools the opportunity to have the time to sort through the process.

Yup forcing a lot of people’s hands, and giving a lot of agents tons of leverage. Hard to make a thorough big splash hire in a timely manner, couldn’t imagine 2 weeks!

Looks like the majority, if not all, of BK’s staff will remain at ND. It will be interesting to see what he does to put a staff together at LSU.

I’m fine with that, he needs to keep several staff members in house now. I wouldn’t venture far beyond OC/DC hires, Louisiana ties are the best IMO

Part of me is glad to see this. On the other hand, does BK now make a run at Elko for DC? (I don't think he would make the lateral move, but I don't know his relationship with BK...other than he left BK's staff to come to ATM.)

With each open HC position that's filled, I breathe just a little sigh of relief. But, with each HC that jumps from one program to another, that opens another potential door for a guy like Elko. I've never really been concerned about Jimbo leaving, but I think losing Elko might sting almost as much.

I'm assuming that Elko has HC aspirations (hope I'm wrong), but apparently is being pretty selective waiting for the "right" opportunity. Anybody have insight into what he might consider as the right opportunity?
