I have no idea what you're talking about now. You said you didn't want anyone to shoot one. I said why do you care. You said because you're the lease boss. I said oh, you care about your members, I get that. What did I miss?

I’ve never even once heard that said.

A fawn is in its first year of life. A yearling is over one year and under two years old.

You've never heard people call fawns yearlings? There's literally multiple examples of it in a thread that's live right now. lol

Nope. We call them fawns on my hunting lease. No big deal either way. I guess my hunters just know the difference

Some of us call them fawns and others on my lease call them yearlings. I don't care either, just pointing out that the lack of spots does not make one a yearling.

Well it bugs me when folks get the names wrong. There is a big difference. And it's something I hear quite a few times every single year from lots of people.

I agree, but its like antlers vs. horns, or wildlife valuation vs wildlife exemption, or pronghorn vs. antelope, or bison vs. buffalo, or Canada goose vs. Canadian goose. You're mostly just wasting your time getting folks to change.

To me, a yearling is a deer that was born the fawning season before last. A fawn is a deer that was born in the most recent fawning season.

And there are a lot more things in this word to get annoyed or irritated over.

Ahhh yes I like it. To those who have eaten fawns and said they were the best, tis true but when it's all said and done you sure don't get much to eat for a tag. Now if we could use half a tag for 1 I might consider shootin em lol

The same could be said for lots of things that annoy you also.
