Two new Tactacam cameras on the market

So, I must have my camera a little far away. I will move it when I can. Last night I received a deer pic and 20 min latter I received a pic of the same deer. It never left, but pics were 20 min apart. Unsure why that happened unless the deer was right on the line of "max distance". This occurred with raccoons, too. They never leave the feeder, so there is no questioning that.

Are there any settings I can change to help with this?

I have the original model and the X. Might need to check your camera configuration. Might start with these (my settings are in parenthesis).

Multi Shot (2p)
Multi Shot Interval (1S)
Delay (OFF)
Work Timer (OFF)

My camera is about 10 yards away, might also need to up the Motion Sensitivity (Level 7) on yours.

The SD card pictures are definitely better than the app. I have my Image Size set in the middle at 12M.

They now offer an option with the app to retrieve HD images. Of course, its an added cost. For $5 you get 50 HD pics.

Motion Sensitivity. I believe 1 is the most sensitive and 7 the least, but someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I think Level 1 might be the lowest setting. When I look at the app, it is right next to OFF.

Edit: just confirmed on their website 9 is the highest and 1 is lowest.

My lease is extremely spotty with cell service and I haven't found a spot yet that the cameras wouldn't work. It picks signal up way better than a phone. I wonder if on demand pictures actually mean I can trigger a photo at any time from my phone.

No that means you can request an "HD" photo of another pic anytime you want. For a fee of course.

I honestly dont see why everyone is so into these cameras. I mean I get that they are cheap, but they are cheap because the pictures suck unless the animal is within 15ft of the camera. You have to buy the HD photos and you cant request any videos. Even if you could how good will they be? I mean I would hope they are better than the pictures.

I don’t know. It can run 6v or 12v devices so maybe. That’s a good question. I would suggest calling Illusive Wildlife and asking them.

I'm still a little confused on them being 12v when the cameras use 12- 1.5v AA batteries (18v total using my fuzzy math) .
But they say it works so I'll bite.

I just put out the reveal x this past weekend. Thus far, I am not impressed. I hope pics on the sd card will be better quality than what is sent through the app

Question: how far away do you set your camera from say a feed pen? What is the max distance?

I have 2 browning cams and the pics are awesome, on the sd card that is. Anyine tried their cell cams?

Yea they are just ok, not great, until you zoom in. Which is what I was talking about. Zoom in and screen shot it and lets see what it looks like. It is terrible. The Spartans have a much clearer picture and when zoomed in do not pixalate. Yes they are a little more expensive, but they are a much better camera.

I mean I get it. People wanting to get into the cell cameras for as cheap as they can. Once they get a good camera they will see exactly what they are missing and how terrible these really are.

100 percent agree photo quality is pretty weak but the reliability has been much better then spypoint and covert. Those are the only other cell cams I have used. I get by with the HD photos. It’s only 5 bucks Here is pic I got this am. Regular and HD.

Has anyone tried the Muzzy cell cam for the same price as these? If so can you post a photo off of it? I am interested in seeing how they are but not so interested in buying one and being disappointed in it like I was the Tactacam.

Low camera cost was to get us all hooked. Then nickel and dime us.
