    South is correct if you are going to fix them permanent to a structure. There is a rotor system that will allow the panels to follow the sun through the daily arc if you are going to mount them on a swivel. They are a little expensive, but if you want the most effective use of the panels then that is a possability. I have mine mounted permanent and they work fine for me. The winter angle is lower than the summer angle, but the panels are more effective during the winter, because heat tends to reduce their effectivess during the summer. Place them so they get as many hours of full sun as possible.

Since we are in the northern hemisphere, the sun does not go directly overhead in the winter months. Therefore, you face it south for the sun that skirts the southern hemisphere east to west.
