Ranger will not start

Had a similar problem with my Mule. Mice had chewed on a wire and it was grounding out. It was sporadic on starting. Dealer found it and replaced wire.

A mouse chewed thru the wiring harness just above the steering column. It happened to one at the ranch and it took me a week to find it, you basically have to stand on your head and go armpit deep to find it. There is a brace on the steering column apparently they sit on it and chee.

I have a 2018 900. Junk. Has 1600 miles on it. Had a warped head and shifts real hard. I have it up for sale now. Never buy another Polaris. To be fair I also bought a 2004 new back in 2004 and had no problems but the $14,000.00 new one is nothing but trouble.

NOTE: I use Rec fuel in both machines.

Wiring can cause all these problems. Mice or rats are usually the culprit. Good luck.

No codes that I can see. Just finished charging battery (took full charge in 45 minutes) and playing with relays, swapped a few before even testing. Tried starting and eventually got it to turn over barely. Idled rough. I let it run for 10 minutes and now it acts fine??

Going to drain gas and refill, change plugs and see from there.

Mine was doing this exact thing initially. Very hard to start, would idle rough, and after a bit would line itself out. When I would hammer on the throttle it would have a slight delay (just wouldn’t get up and go like it did beforehand.). After a while of this I’d finally started throwing a code. After some testing I was finally able to diagnose as a Crankshaft Position Sensor. Very easy plug and play fix in the end.
