    Ranger will not start

So to be clear you are getting spark but the engine will not fire up? You pulled plugs and actually checked them for spark? I’m not overly familiar with the ignition on these but I would assume they run some type of coil and if it’s bad or shorting when hot, then you’ll turn over fine but won’t run. Usually you only have that issue after running and it’s hot though. Most coils have a resistance check your can do but in my experience it’s easier and cheap enough to just replace it. If you have spark, fuel and air, you likely just have a bad gas problem or a fuel line that is collapsing and not allowing enough fuel to the motor (see this is boats more bc of engine mounted pumps with suction lift).

Thanks, gas is fresh but might try some new. I pulled plugs and checked spark physically. Might try again and see if wet/fuel on them.

Check all the fuses in the fuse box with a volt meter. Do you hear the fuel pump hum when you turn the key on?

Yep, fuel pump hums and I checked flow with an external tube...good flow, did not measure pressure but swapped out fuel pump any way.

I'm going to check fuses because some are labeled EFI, etc..might be injectors.

I know you said new battery but try hooking it up to another one and jumping it off. If that works then you need to get a slow charger to keep on the ranger when you aren't using it.

I have a 2018 900xp and had that issue. Guy at polaris shop sold me a battery and told me it was new and had 80% charge BUT needed to slow charge to top off. He said it would take 4 hours and it actually took about 16 hours.

Ok, just wanting to make sure you pulled and checked spark visually. There should be fuses for the injection system. You may have fuel at the pump but if the injectors are not working you are still without fuel at the motor. Thats about the only think that I can think of left other than some odd safety switch. Do you have a neutral safety switch that could be failing? I have never owned one but if I recall you can't start unless its in neutral (maybe with brake pressed) so that could also keep you from running....maybe?

No neutral switch. Battery is new but 2-3 months old.

Will try brake switch and fuses/relays, drain gas and plugs.

It's not the brake switch. When mine went bad, it wouldn't turn over let alone fire. All you could hear was fuel pump go on.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the battery or fuel pump

I hope you're right because I've already swapped fuel pump and charging a two month old battery now!!

I just had the same symptoms with my zero turn mower. Tried a number of things before resigning and took it to the dealer.
Come to find out I got some bad gas with water in it and had an inch of water at the bottom of my tank.
I would recommend, based on what you have already done, draining your tank and starting with fresh gas.
It never occurred to me that much water would have been in my tank.

Does the tach read rpm when turning over? Sounds like crankshaft position sensor. I’m waiting on one to come in now, second one I’ve changed out in my 2017. They’re about $20 on Amazon or $100 through Polaris.

Is it throwing a check engine light or code?

Is it throwing any codes? My 2015 was doing literally the exact same thing and it ended up being the Crankshaft Position Sensor was bad. Cheap and easy fix.

No codes that I can see. Just finished charging battery (took full charge in 45 minutes) and playing with relays, swapped a few before even testing. Tried starting and eventually got it to turn over barely. Idled rough. I let it run for 10 minutes and now it acts fine??

Going to drain gas and refill, change plugs and see from there.

sounds like your battery is bad.
